Minister of Internal Security, Dr. Vincent Biruta, visited the Egyptian Police Academy during the Fifth International Security Ministers’ Conference, which concluded October 20.
On Tuesday, Dr. Biruta met with his Egyptian counterpart, Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Tawfik, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in security and law enforcement.
In a post on X, the Rwandan Embassy in Egypt said Dr. Biruta was shown the ongoing partnership between the Rwandan and Egyptian police forces, particularly in professional training programs.
The visit coincided with the graduation of seven Rwandan police officers who had completed eight-week courses at the academy. The training covered human rights, community policing, crime prevention, counter-terrorism, and leadership development.
