Rwanda’s prime minister, Justin Nsengiyumva, on a visit to Libreville, met with Rwandan nationals living in Gabon and praised their unity while urging them to contribute to the development of both countries.
Nsengiyumva traveled to Gabon to represent President Paul Kagame at the official inauguration of the Libreville Congress Palace on May 3, 2026.
Following the event, the Office of the Prime Minister said on X that Nsengiyumva held talks with members of the Rwandan diaspora, thanking them for their role in promoting the country’s image abroad and encouraging them to maintain their cohesion.
He urged them to continue contributing to the development of their host nation while maintaining strong ties to Rwanda.
Rwanda and Gabon maintain cooperation and trade relations, particularly in air transport. Rwanda’s national carrier, RwandAir, operates flights to Libreville.
The two countries first signed cooperation agreements in 1976, later revising them in 2010.
